Recycle for Life Recycling has long been the cornerstone of The Kidney Foundation of Canada. First there was organ donation, the ultimate recycling program that saves lives and reduces the kidney transplant waiting list. Then came The Kidney Car Program, the recycling campaign that provides income for the Foundation while removing old vehicles from the roads – good for the environment and kidney patients alike. In 2008 we introduced Give the Gift of Life Walks and now there are Kidney Metals and the Garage Sale recycling campaigns, two new initiatives that benefit kidney patients, the environment and individuals:
- In partnership with ABC Recycling, Kidney Metals enables businesses and households to support The Kidney Foundation by donating their scrap metal;
- Recycling through Garage Sales gives everyone the chance to get rid of the stuff they don’t want and help The Kidney Foundation. Your unwanted “junk” becomes someone else’s treasure, and proceeds are donated to The Kidney Foundation.
Kidney disease is growing by epidemic proportions. One in 30 British Columbians have developed this incurable condition and the numbers increase every year. By getting involved in The Kidney Foundation’s Recycle for Life Campaign you will be helping yourself, the environment and approximately 145,000 British Columbians with kidney disease.
Select the Recycle for Life Campaign that interests you from the menu on the right, and make a difference to your life as well as to someone who has kidney disease.
