Canadian Blood Services (CBS) is committed to engaging the public in the design of a new nationally coordinated system for Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation, (OTDT).
To this end they are inviting a cross section of stakeholders to a series of public dialogues being held across the country. The purpose of the meetings is to give Canadians an opportunity to learn more about the current state of OTDT and have their voices heard on what a new system should look like and how it should operate. Hon. Kevin Falcon is encouraging everyone to participate in The Kidney Foundations ROUND'EM UP BAIL'EM OUT campaign. "Chronic kidney disease is one of the leading causes of death in Canada and sadly we're seeing incidents of kidney disease growing by some 30% a year," said Minister Falcon. 
Research funded by The Kidney Foundation of Canada and led by kidney specialists at Lawson Health Research Institute and London Health Sciences Centre will make it possible for doctors to quickly and effectively access information relevant for patient care.
