Anemia is a condition in which you do not have enough healthy red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to your body's tissues. There are many forms of anemia, so it can affect people differently depending on how severe it is. As the condition worsens, it may lead to low energy, tiredness, shortness of breath, and sometimes, increased sensitivity to cold. If left untreated, anemia can cause serious health problems. Seek treatment so you can better understand the cause of your anemia, boost your energy and feel better.

Teresa Atkinson

Kidney Patient
My kidney journey began with a crash. At 22, I was just settling into my adult life when out of the blue my kidneys failed without any warning. I woke up in the intensive care unit already on peritoneal dialysis (PD). I have survived more years on dialysis than with a successful transplant and undergone all forms of treatment available including PD, Hemo dialysis both in-center and nocturnal at home. After 17 years, I now live with my 3rd miracle kidney transplant from the highly sensitized list. I have battled Anemia throughout my 35-year kidney journey and even today with a transplant anemia is still an ongoing issue.
