The 2011 Give the Gift of Life Walk season has now come to a close, but not without creating a lasting storybook of memories and highlights that showcase our kidney family  and our collective commitment to reducing the burden of kidney disease.
You walked to honour your loved ones, to celebrate the gift of life, in recognition of the wonderful health care providers who help educate and provide excellent care. Some of you walked in memory as a way to provide lasting hope to those living with kidney disease. Through your support we are thrilled to say we raised $485,000 to support kidney research, education and awareness programs that will help ease the burden of kidney disease throughout Ontario. Thank you for being part of something bigger!

Did you know?

  • 199 teams participated in this year's walk
  • 17 walks were led by volunteers. These events raised more than $109,000
  • Over 2100 walkers took strides to be part of something bigger
  • 33 walks were held across Ontario throughout the month of September and early October
  • The Kidney Foundation holds walk events in every province across Canada

It's hard to believe, but as we close the chapter on this year's event, we begin planning for our 2012 events.
