Area Chair Responsibilities

As an Area Chair, it is your responsibility to make arrangements to deliver Canvasser Kits to the Captains. Please get to know the Captains in your area – you are their motivator. When you motivate them, they in turn inspire the Canvasser which helps to make our campaign a success.

Please contact your Captains no later than February 17, 2019 in order to have all materials in their hands by February 24, 2019.

In the second week of March, call each Captain to make sure that they have delivered all their Canvasser kits.
Remind Captains to call their Canvassers in the third week of March to make sure that they are fulfilling their commitment. Sometimes the Canvassers forget and need to be reminded that they only have the month of March to canvass. Others may be unable to fulfill their commitment. If a Canvasser cannot fulfill his or her commitment, Captains should try to fill that route with one another Canvasser.  If a Captain cannot fulfill his or her commitment, please call the office so that we can arrange to put another Captain in place. If you cannot fulfill your responsibility, please call the office immediately.

At the end of the month, contact the Captains one more time. Remind them that they should have all kits returned to them by April 8, 2019. Once all the kits and money have been collected, Captains need to make arrangements with you for pick up or delivery of kits.

Area Chairs should have all the kits collected by  April 15, 2019.  If for any reason you will not, please call the office. We will have a central drop off location for kits in most areas. The Foundation will contact you with these details.

Please remind students that if they need a Community Involvement letter which confirms their volunteer hours, they need to call their local office with their name, address, route number and area that they canvassed.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact your local March Drive Coordinator or call 1.800.387.4474 ext.4968.
