MARCH IS KIDNEY MONTH

March is Kidney Month and March 14, 2019 is World Kidney Day.

Below is a list of activities planned for the Month of March to recognize/commemorate the month and also events planned for March 14th to celebrate World Kidney Day.

St. John's and Mount Pearl- Proclamtions by City Mayors proclaiming the Month of March as Kidney Month

Visits to the Kidney Care Centre with games, coffee, tea and treats, education and awreness materials

Gander unit visit with coffee, tea and treats for patients and staff.  Education materials and information on KFOC Programs and Services

Carbonear fun activites, awareness and celebrations for patients and staff

Panel discussion on the advancements in kidney health on PEI “Working Together to Advance Kidney Care” to be held on March 14, HMCS Queen Charlotte (9:00 -10;30 am). A free breakfast and panelists include: Dr. Chaudhary, a social worker, nutritionist, renal nurse, organ donation coordinator and myself. Speaker to be confirmed. It is sponsored by KFOC. Opening remarks by the Minister of Health, Robert Mitchell.

Proclamation in the House by Minister of Health, proclamation by the Mayor in the City of Charlottetown, and Summerside as well as by the Mayor of Alberton and Souris where our renal units are located.
