PKD Treatment Results Published

New results for the treatment of later-stage polycystic kidney disease were recently published in The New England Journal of Medicine. Authors conclude that “Tolvaptan resulted in a slower decline than placebo in the estimated GFR over a 1-year period in patients with later-stage ADPKD.” More information.

The Kidney Research Scientist Core Education and National Training Program (KRESCENT) has had a major impact on kidney scientist training in Canada. The program has graduated over 80 trainees, many of whom have gone on to become leaders in the kidney research field. Kevin Burns, who has been the Program Chair since the beginning of the program, is stepping down from this role.
