Transplant documentary premiere Nov. 17

The world broadcast premiere of Vital Bonds, a documentary about transplant medicine, is on CBC television’s The Nature of Things on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016 at 8 pm EST. After that date, the documentary will be available online.

Alberta Health Services collaborated with the CBC and National Film Board to produce this fascinating documentary about transplantation. It features breakthrough discoveries made by scientists and the wonders achieved by surgeons in operation rooms. Vital Bonds also brings heartbreaking stories to the public, including that of parents about to lose their beloved son and making the difficult yet admirable decision to donate.

The Kidney Foundation of Canada encourages families to talk about their decisions and to register their wishes through the appropriate provincial channels. To find out more, visit Watch the preview of Vital Bonds, and a Kidney Foundation public service announcement about organ donation.
