Kidney March Mini Marchers kick off their 1st kilometre

A small but mighty crew has taken to pathways across Alberta to walk 100k’s in 100 days - one kilometre at a time.  Sam McKail, the original mini marcher, completed 100 kilometres last year when he was just two. Kidney Foundation of Canada across Alberta launching campaign to increase organ donation as Kidney Health Month begins

The statistics are well-known, especially to Canadians waiting for a transplant: there are 4,585 Canadians on the list, and, in 2016, 260 Canadians died while waiting. “It is unacceptable that people are dying as they wait on a list,” says Joyce Van Deurzen, Executive Director, Kidney Foundation of Canada (Southern Alberta). “Today, we are proud to formally launch our More Transplants campaign across Alberta on behalf of those who are waiting.” Read more. The Kidney Foundation of Canada Presents, Kidney Education Day. This free event is open to all who wish to learn more about their kidneys and kidney health.
10:00 am: Kidney 101
11:15 am: Nutrition & Kidney Health
12:30 pm: Exercise & Kidney Health

Refreshment provided Bring your family and friends. Friendly, informal atmosphere. Local kidney experts will speak about kidney health and kidney care. Feel free to ask questions after each session. Come for all three sessions or just one.
